How to Connect Your Smartphone to Smart TV

When your family or friends come over, you may want to mirror your phone screen on the TV so that everyone can have a better viewing experience. Also, you may want to experience watching mobile content in private on a much larger screen.

There are several methods to connect your smartphone to a smart TV. You can choose to connect your smartphone to the TV via cable or choose to mirror your phone’s screen.

Using a Wired Connection

There are various types of cables you can use to connect your smartphone to the TV. You can also use an adapter with a female port and the appropriate cable to connect your phone and TV. However, the port you may want to use will differ depending on the ports available on your smartphone.

Your smartphone will display one of three different port types. If you are using an older Android phone (manufactured before 2018), it will have a micro USB port.

After setting the proper input channel on your Smart TV, your TV will start automatically displaying content on your smartphone screen.

Lightning to HDMI

Most newer Android phone models let you mirror your screen wirelessly to other display devices. While the steps may vary slightly depending on your device manufacturer and Android version, they are almost the same on all Android devices.
