Taking screenshots is a very convenient method of capturing visual information on the screen. Almost all devices, including the Lenovo Yoga device, offer multiple ways to capture screenshots.
Lenovo Yoga comes as a tablet or laptop, so it has a different operating system. Depending on the device you are using, you will need to use a different method to capture the screenshot.
How to Take a Screenshot on a Lenovo Yoga Tablet?
Lenovo Yoga tablets use the Android operating system. So, the process of taking a screenshot is similar to that of an Android phone or tablet.
Using the Side Button
The easiest way to take a screenshot on the Lenovo Yoga tablet is to press the Volume down button and the Power button on the side of the tablet. Doing so will capture and save the full screen that you can view in your Photos or Gallery in the Screenshots folder.
Depending on the model, the power button may be a smaller button just below the volume buttons or a large button on the hinge.
Using the Screenshot Option in the Pop-up Menu
Swiping up from the bottom of the screen brings up a menu containing settings or apps. It also has an option to take a screenshot, which lets you capture the full screen as well as the cropped area image.
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen. This will show several pop-up options. Choose Screenshots. If you want to take a full screen screenshot, select it Full screen on menus. If you want to take a screenshot of a smaller square area, tap a point on the screen and drag your finger to another point to create a cropping area to crop the screen. You can also adjust the snip area by dragging its corners and edges afterwards. After specifying the snip area, tap it cutto take and save screenshots. Same with the above method, you can find screenshots in the app Gallery or Photos and in a folder Screenshot .
How to Take a Screenshot on a Lenovo Yoga Laptop?
Lenovo Yoga laptops or Lenovo Yoga books use the Windows operating system by default. So, you can also use all screenshot methods for Windows to take pictures on this device.
Using the Print Screen Button
Windows comes with an integrated screenshot feature that you can use with the PrtSc or Print Screen Button. You can use this feature to capture the full screen image or only the active window.
Press PrtSc button to capture full screen. Doing so only saves the image to the clipboard, so you’ll need to paste it into Paint or an image editor like Photoshop and then save it. Or you can directly share it with other people on the internet by pasting it from the clipboard. You can also press Windows key (⊞) + PrtSc to instantly take and save a full screenshot. Your system saves screenshots in the Pictures\Screenshots folder (inside C:\Users\“username”). It uses names Screenshots (xx), where xx is a number. Number is the first number that is not used for the same name in incremental order. So, if you have screenshots, Screenshot (1).png, Screenshot (2).png, and Screenshot (4).png, the next screenshot is Screenshot (3).png. Screenshots are also stored in the clipboard along with the Screenshots folder, so you can use them right away in any photo editor too. Press Alt + PrtSc to take a screenshot of the currently active window and save it to the clipboard. Although Windows key (⊞) + Alt + PrtSc taking and saving screenshots, actually uses a feature of the Xbox Gamebar, and we’ll talk more about that below.
Using the Snipping Tool
You can also use the built-in Snipping Tool app to take screenshots on your Lenovo Yoga laptop.
In Windows 10, this tool is called Snip & Sketch, and Snipping Tool is a similar but different program. However, Microsoft removed the old Snipping Tool in Windows 11 and renamed Snip & Sketch to Snipping Tool.
You can open this program and then open its snipping screen to take a screenshot or go directly to the snipping screen. The shortcut for the screenshot is Windows key (⊞) + Shift + S.
To open and use the program,
Open Start Menu > All Apps > Snipping Tool. Or you can search for this app in the search bar (Windows key’⊞’+ S) and open it. Be sure to choose camera icon, which is for screenshot or snip mode, not the Record icon. Set timer as you would if you wanted a delay before starting to take screenshots. Click New to open a snippet screen where you can take a screenshot. On the top menu of this screen, you will see four options along with a Close icon. Choose one according to your needs and take a screenshot accordingly. Rectangle Snip: This allows you to take a screenshot of the rectangular cropped area. You need to click or tap on any point and drag your mouse or finger to another point. This will create a crop area with two points as the diagonal. Freeform Snip: This lets you capture unusual screenshots. You can click a location on the screen and drag your mouse around to take a screenshot of the area within this perimeter. Window Snips: It allows you to take screenshots of a single window. You can click or tap anywhere within the window to take the picture. Full Screen Snip: Clicking it will take a full screen screenshot of your view.
Depending on Snipping Tool settings, your system may automatically save screenshots to the Pictures\Screenshots folder or just save them in the clipboard history (default behavior). If it’s the latter, you’ll need to paste it into an image editor to be able to save it. You can check the current behavior using the steps below. Click the dot icon in the Snipping Tool application. Choose Settings. Check the status of the options Save screenshots automatically and change accordingly.
If you open the app and then take a screenshot, or if you click the screenshot notification after taking it, you can also edit the screenshot in the App Snipping tool. Then, you can copy or save them as needed.
Using the Xbox Gamebar
The Xbox Game Bar feature on Windows systems is geared more towards video recording. However, it also lets you take screenshots of the active window.
you need to press Windows key (⊞) + Alt + PrtSc to take a screenshot of the active window via the Xbox Game Bar. You will get a pop-up notification saying Screenshot saved. You can click the notification or open the Xbox Game Bar (Windows key (⊞) + G), activate tabs Captures from the top panel, and select Check out my catch to check the screenshot you took using the Game Bar.
The Capture tab also includes icons camera which you can use to take a screenshot as an alternative to the hotkeys above. You can also open the Videos\Captures folder in the C:\Users\“username” directory, which is the actual storage location of Game Bar screenshots, to view the images.
It is also possible to change the shortcut from within the Game Bar Settings.
Press Windows key (⊞) + G to open the Xbox Game Bar. Click Arrangement from the top panel. Open Shortcut and click the text box Take a screenshot . Press the new hotkey you want and if it’s valid, click it Save.
