In a summer season packed with favorites like Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War, and Jujutsu Kaisen, there is one brand new anime that you need to be checking out!
Of course, we’re talking about Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead! the series that has had audiences excited since the initial trailer dropped! With just three episodes out currently the series has continued this train of excitement and taken the world by storm with its original take on the zombie apocalypse!
If you’re on the fence about watching or never heard of it, this article is for you! We’ll make sure you’ll want to check it out after reading this!
Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead follows 24-year-old Akira Tendou and his life working at an exploitative company in Japan. His spirit has long since been broken working there for the past three years. Worse, he can’t muster up the courage or energy to confess his feelings to his co-worker Saori Ootori.
That all changes one morning when he wakes up to find Japan plagued by a zombie apocalypse. No longer tied down by the shackles of work, Akira sets out to do all the things he could never do while working. All in the midst of an extreme zombie outbreak!
Off the bat, we have quite the interesting setup, but also something different with Akira choosing to live his life to the fullest instead of the usual save the world trope. Adding on to the innovative plot, the series follows up with some amazing animation and music that take the series to the next level!
Although it isn’t Demon Slayer, BUG FILMS does an amazing job with the animation of this series, especially seeing how it’s the studio’s debut anime!
Being only three episodes in, the animation style and quality could very easily change halfway through the series, but as of right now, everything is coming together perfectly.
The way that motion is portrayed is very fluid and dynamic, with a distinct style between the zombies and human survivors. The way color is used is very similar to another well-received anime Wonder Egg Priority, so if you liked that series, be sure to check this one out!
Aside from the motion, BUG FILMS has done an amazing job with the colors of this series, starting off very dull and monotone but immediately bursting with color once Akira realizes he is free.
The colors are vibrant and exciting, filling up every scene with a multitude of different splashes, almost as if the entire background was a paintball battleground! And although it doesn’t fall under animation, the music for this series is just as crucial as the animation.
Just like the colors, the music is vibrant and exciting, leaving viewers at the edge of their seats for an overall amazing piece of art!

We could go into more points that make this series one of the best of this season, such as the characters and so much more! Instead of going into all those amazing details, we’ll leave it for you to see yourself when you check out Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead.
The series can be found officially on multiple streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchyroll. Episodes release weekly, so be sure to catch up before the series finishes its 12-episode run!
